This is a PDF file for KS1. It consists of my own original poems, a rhyming verse and an old ballad connected to Summer. The poetry is based on the seaside,sand, gardens, forests, birds and flowers in the summer. Each poem has follow up worksheets involving creative writing, poetry writing , rhythm and rhyme, internet research, grammar, drawing activities, writing a postcard, writing lists and dictionary work on words and meanings.Mainly beneficial for KS1 but could be used with low achievers in KS2. Plenty of room for differentation.

To celebrate Roald Dahl and this publication with new illustrations by Quentin Blake I have created this 27 page PDF file. It is a super resource and can be printed out as a complete workbook. It covers characters in the story, writing tasks and drawing activities making it a fun workbook for all the children at different levels of achievement. Tasks include: Internet Research, descriptive and imaginative writing, empathy with the characters, sound words, book reviews, speech writing, sentence construction, a newspaper report and a little bit of Science regarding animals and their sense of smell. A superb resource recently updated for studying classification of animals with comprehension and quiz sheets for KS1 and KS2. This will be useful if you have a summer zoo trip organised or are studying animals. The worksheets can be printed out as individual sheets or as an entire workbook. Children are asked to read the fact sheets and then answer questions, write their own animal stories and poems and find out more facts about animals found only in Australia.
